Olubunkola lives by the famous Nelson Mendela quote that “As we let our own light shine, we unconsiciously give other people the permission to do the same.”
She credits her self-discovery and hair journey to her experiences at Howard University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Business Management.
At Howard, she was active in several on campus organizations including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and served as the Co-Chair for an annual youth empowerment conference that engaged over 550 girls in the DC Metro area to become their best self in all facets of their lives!
After graduation, she decided to pursue her career in the hair industry by attending the reputable Aveda Institute where she graduated at the top of her class and won the coveted title of DC Master Stylist for the Beacon Student Competition. Since then, she has earned her Cosmetology License in both Washington, DC and New York State and continues to practice her craft.
Currently, Olubunkola works as a Freelance Hairstylist and Beauty Advisor for L’Oreal USA and Carol’s Daughter. She has published work in several online media sites such as Birchbox, Buzzfeed, HelloBeautiful and Essence.com also serving as Lead Hairstylist for the hit web series “Quarter Century.”
